You’re at the airport, your flight is delayed for six more hours, and none of your electronic devices is working. How do you pass the time?
Two hours would be spent window shopping around the terminal, catching up with newest gadget and luxury goods I need. Keep in mind that I’ve been downsizing my belongings for almost a year, so I would not be indulged with unnecessary goods. I also love to take photograph around the airport, watching the plane flies.
The next one hour would be reading emails, updates on FB, twitter, instagram (mine is ky_707, comment on my picture if you found me and. I will follow you back). That means three hours have passed, another three left and I still got a lot to do on airport, one of them is trying airport restaurant, many of them are delicious (there’s bakerzin on Changi Singapore, Sakae Sushi on Hong Kong), I used to eat fast in high school so one hour earing would be sufficient for me.
Two hours after that, I would washed myself for a long flight, brush my teeth, change to more comfortable clothes and meditate for thirty minutes or so. That will leave me one hour for waiting in the lounge, I could sleep, chat with stranger (of course if they start the conversation first), or read books on my iPad mini.
I have a quite record on reading, by the way. In 2013, I finished over 130 books in a year, and from January this year to April I finished 75 books. You may ask what I do in May and this month, and I’ll tell you that this two months I’ve been preparing for a big exam next Monday.
That is quite a few books. I try for 50 a year.
And how’s that going Lisa? At first I didn’t have a target, but then I fell in love with reading ‘self help’ books and decided to read 80 in 2013, then I surpassed 50, 80, 100, and end up with 130ish by New Year. I think what really matter is enjoying the book though, when I enjoy the book, I want more of it. Enjoy your reading!
