Your local electronics store has just started selling time machines, anywhere doors, and invisibility helmets. You can only afford one. Which of these do you buy, and why?
I would buy something function like handheld device, capable of storing many files like computer, able to browse the internet, taking pictures, playing music, and communicating with other. What? You say there is a gadget like that?
That would the response we get by asking the same question 20 years ago. Don’t you agree that what we have now is beyond imagination of people 20-30 years ago? We have today the device very capable of doing things we used to do with single functioning gadget. We don’t need telephone gadget, camera gadget, mp3 player gadget, but we have today what we call smartphones, a device capable of doing it all in a compact size.
The implication of having this smartphone is very unpredictable, we are able to save more time, more productivity, and literally we could do tasks faster, more efficient than we used to. But on the other side there is the negative side of these gadget, people are so focused on using their gadget that they forget to chat with people beside them, they prefer looking at the picture in the phones rather than the landscape in front of them. Even they chat with far distance friend rather than socialize at the party itself.
Just a friendly reminder to us to be more present in our daily activities and use the technology we have accordingly.
