Do you believe in fate or do you believe you can control your own destiny?
I believe in our freedom to choose, despite our fate or not. We are given a power and privelege to choose whatever we want to be in life. This is our life! Nobody could and should tell us what to do today, or tomorrow, or whenever it is in our life. People could give us advice, but in the end it is up to us to decide what to do.
The sad thing is most of us don’t use our privelege to choose wisely. We think (or perhaps limiting ourself) that we are destined to have this job, married to this woman, living this routine until dead. We limit ourselves to grow and do what we want to do in life. If you want to travel the world, then buy a ticket now! You could leave your country tomorrow and never come back! Open the business you are drafting for long time (ehmm, reflecting to myself)!
Fear is one factor why we don’t accomplish our goals, fear of security, fear of losing what we have now, fear of entering a new world, fear of ourselves. Feal the fear, and do it anyway. If a beggar could live day to day without having a job, so can we! (Not to mean we should be a beggar) We have brain so smart, body to work, and as long as we want to, we could find job anywhere, from janitor to business consultant.
Nobody can stop us if we had a burning desire to do anything! Think of it, what are your dream when you are young? How many of it do you accomplished? What prevent you in the past? What prevent you now? What could you do about it?
Vivere. Dare to live!

you are so correct about fear being the major stumbling block, that keeps us from achieving. Sometimes is not even fear of failure, but fear of success. Great post!

What you suggest seems like a reckless and irresponsible lifestyle, which will go sideways sooner or later. Not like I’ve been Mr Foresight for the longest time of my life, and don’t hold lofty ideals or avoid unnecessary risks.
Yes, you might be right! Different people have different values to live for, and mine is “freedom and success” while your’s may be “security and responsibility”. While no value is higher than the other, there is a prioritization for those values in our life. I’m not promoting irresponsibility though, of course we have to be responsible for our family, and responsibilities we took in the past, but I believe it shouldn’t be a reason for us to not living our fullest potential. Thank you for your perspective.
Security and responsibility are my job 😉 though my job has changed my perspective on some values – hence the part where I wasn’t always Mr Foresight. And, for freedom’s and success’ sake, I do jump at risky opportunities, hoping I can compensate with my charm when my ambitious plans go awry
