Key Points from Book: As a Man Thinketh

Mind is the master power that moulds and makes, and man is the mind, and evermore he takes the tool of thought, and, shaping what he wills, bring forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills. He thinks in secret and it comes to pass, environment is but his looking glass.

They themselves ade makers of themselves

A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts

Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state; but in his degradation he is the foolish master who misgoverns his household.

Just as gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts.

Man do not attract that which they want, but that which they are

Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some directions

A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances

Strength can only be developed by effort and practice

All achievement, whether in The business, intellectual, or spiritual world, are the result of definitely directed thought, are governed by the same law and are of the same method, the only difference lies in the object of attainment

Be strong and calm

Self control is strength, right thought is mastery, calmness is power. Peace be still in our heart

Everyday is a new beginning

Sacrifice for greater success

None but right acts can follow right thoughts: none but a right life can follow right acts; and by living a right life all blessedness is achieved

Control your thought, control your tounge

Do kindness, do good. Which way would you go, good or evil?

He who has conquered doubt and fear jas conquered failure

Do your job and wait patiently for the result, for nothing will grow crops except time itself

Yes! I have suffered, but by choosing to succeed and to thrive, I overcome. More accurately, he that is in me has overcome.
