Philosophy: Knowing Your Spirit

After my last 2 days writing “Knowing Yourself” and “Knowing Your Mind”, today I’m writing about “Knowing Your Spirit”

We all have preference, whether it’s movie genre, music, photo, or even friends and spouse. You might be tired and want to sleep as soon as you get home, but then you turn on your TV and noticed James Bond film will begin in the next 10 minutes, so you quickly shower yourself and grab a blanket, then sit on the couch for the next 2 hours. Suddenly the adrenaline rush into your bloodstream and you are not sleepy anymore, you enjoy the moment, watching your favourite movie. And that’s what I describe as spirit, to me spirit is anything that makes us excited, happy, and we are never going to be bored doing it. Most of my reader have a passion for photography, and that’s what I call with spirit. We love to take memories as we walk our journey, the moment the shutter click, adrenaline rush into our blood, and when we see the result in our 3 inch screen, we smile and our heart beating faster. It’s very important to know our spirit, so we can direct it in our life and live our life to it’s fullest potential. As Elektra King said, “what’s the point of living, if you can’t feel alive”, that sentence reflect me perfectly. Here’s some of my thought:

1. Knowing your spirit helps you write your goals

Some of us like to help people, so they become a doctor. Some people like to change the world in a better way, so they become company executive. Some people like to help people cherish their memories, so they become photographer. Some people, like us like to share our thought and work with other, so they become a blogger. Whatever our spirit is/are, it should be aligned with our life goals, what we want to achieve in this life, for example eradicate polio in my country, or create application that helps diabetes patient monitor their diet, or help 5 people around us to improve himself. It’s so simple and joyful, that is our spirit we will not be tired doing it, because our desire is bigger than our tired body.

2.It’s living your life

Why should you work if you don’t want to? There’s many job related with our spirit, why should we choose the one we don’t like? Even if the salary is better, you will not be satisfied with your work because you know that’s not where your heart is. But if you do something you love, everyday would be holiday.

3. Even if you are scared to move from your comfort zone……

move slowly. Plan for each mont or each week to do something you love, and increase the intensity with time, or better create money from your spirit. I know it’s easier said than done (I haven’tdo it myself), but I believe it will be worthed in the end. as Martin Luther said, if you cannot run, then walk, if you cannot walk, then crawl. The point is to keep moving forward.

I hope some of my thought will be useful and help you to reflect your own life, and I’m able to achieve one of my goals, to improve people life. Have a good day!
